[Watch] Gujarat Rain: Crocodile Rescued From Street, Another Found Resting On Roof

Vadodara: A 10-foot-long crocodile was rescued by rescuers in Vadodara after it came out of a river and was seen strolling on a road amid rain.

The reptile was captured by a team of wildlife rescuers.

It was then handed over to the forest department.

Many rivers in Gujarat are flooded, leading to crocodiles and other reptiles coming onto the streets.

 

Meanwhile, a video, published by the PTI shows a crocodile lying on its stomach on a tin roof of a house. The property is surrounded by neck-deep water.


Indistinct-but-excited chatter is also heard off camera.

 

Rain forecast

Isolated extremely heavy rainfall is likely over Saurashtra and Kutch till August 30.
The deep depression over Saurashtra & Kachchh moved slowly westwards with a speed of 3 Kmph during past 6 hours and lay
centered on Thursday 60 km northnorthwest of Bhuj (Gujarat), 80 km northeast of Naliya (Gujarat) and 270 km east-southeast of Karachi (Pakistan), the IMD said.

It is likely to move west-southwestwards, emerge into northeast Arabian Sea off Kachchh and adjoining Saurashtra and Pakistan coasts and intensify into a Cyclonic Storm on August 30.

Thereafter, it would continue to move nearly west-southwestwards over northeast Arabian Sea away from Indian coast during subsequent 2 days.
