Mumbai: Defending IPL champions Gujarat Titans kicked off their 2023 campaign on a winning note. Up against 4-time champions Chennai Super Kings in front of home fans at Narendra Modi Stadium, Hardik Pandya’s boys snatched a last-over victory.
As they prepared for their second game of the season, against Delhi Capitals at Ferozeshah Kotla, the team had a special celebration on the flight from Ahmedabad to Delhi.
It was head coach Ashish Nehra’s wedding anniversary and the team was not going to miss wishing Mr & Mrs Nehra.
Gujarat Titans shared a video of the on-board celebrations, as Nehra and his wife Rushma cut a cake.
Nehra, known to be a great entertainer, was in the mood and cracked jokes as Pandya and the players sang ‘Happy anniversary’.
“Abbey shaadi karle tu bhi (You also get married),” Nehra told one of the players.
He was heard saying, “Happy wife, happy life.”

Nehra and Rushma, who got married on April 2, 2009, have two children.
