Jharsuguda: Subhashree Hota of Odisha’s Jharsuguda town has topped in MTech (Biotechnology) of Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) 2022.
Speaking to Odisha Bytes, Subhashree said though she had performed well in the examination, she did not expect to come out first in the state. She was extremely happy with the results, she added.
On her preparation for the examination, Subhashree said she used to study for 7 to 8 hours daily and was taking online coaching from a private study centre for one year. “Besides my own efforts, the encouragement and blessings of her parents helped my achieve the top rank. My brother also helped in my self-study,” she added.

She further said she after Class XII, she had appeared at the medical entrance test but could not succeed. Since she was interested in biotechnology, she started preparation for the test and secured rank 7 last year. After taking the coaching, she topped this year, she added.
On her future plans, Subhashree said she wanted to do PhD in biotechnology after completing MTech.
Her mother Padmini Kar, who is a government school teacher, said she has always supported her daughter in anything she wanted to do. “I have encouraged her to pursue her dreams and told her that I would be behind her for efforts. Not only Subhashree, I would want all girls to work hard, study with devotion and achieve the dreams in their life,” she added.
Subhashree’s father, who was serving as executive officer in Jharsuguda Municipality, expired last year.
OJEE results were announced by Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Pritiranjan Gharai on Wednesday. Out of 47,761 students who had appeared at the examination, 47,729 had secured ranks.
