Detroit: An American man has set a world record for having the largest tongue circumference.
Dante Barnes, from Michigan’s Battle Creek, found a place in the Guinness World Records for a tongue whose circumference measures 12.19 cms (4.80 inches).
The Guinness World Records states on its website that Barnes’ tongue is almost as big as a “ping pong ball”. The tongue becomes roughly 4.2 cms (1.65 inches) in height and 4 cms (1.57 inches) in width when expanded.
Referring to his tongue as a gift, he never imagined he would have a world record for anything, ‘let alone for my tongue’, Barnes says in a video released by Guinness World Records on Instagram.

In another video, on YouTube, Barnes holds a ping pong ball next to his tongue, for reference.
There are other world record related to the tongue in Guinness World Records.
American Nick Stoeberl has the longest tongue (male), measuring 10.1 cms (3.97 inches), while fellow-American Chanel Tapper is the female title holder (9.75 cms or 3.8 inches).
