Amman: Miracles do happen.
How else can you explain a four-month-old baby being pulled out of the debris 30 hours after a four-storeyed building collapsed in Jordan?
The residential building in Jabal al-Weibdeh, near the country’s capital Amman, went down last week, killing 14 people.
But baby Malak survived. She was covered in dust, but looked uninjured. She was rushed to a hospital for a thorough check-up.
Since rescue teams of Jordan Civil Defense rescued her, the infant is being called an ‘icon of hope and life’.
About 25 people were feared trapped under the debris of the building. Rescuers have found 4 bodies so far.
