Mumbai: The much-awaited ‘Adipurush’ released on Friday amid much fanfare.
Be it early morning shows or afternoon screenings, the Prabhas and Kriti Sanon-starrer attracted packed theatres across the country.
‘Adipurush’, one of the most expensive Indian films of all time, is based on the epic Ramayana.
Hence, Hanuman has a big role in the Om Raut-helmed magnum opus.
Th director had requested that one seat in every cinema hall screening ‘Adipurush’ be reserved for Lord Hanuman.
The producers and distributors obliged, with netizens sharing pictures Lord Hanuman idols being placed on seats.
In one theatre, a monkey was among the audience!
A video on social media, the authenticity of which has been verified by India Today’s fact-checking team, shows the monkey watching the movie. Some people in the theatre are heard chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ on spotting the monkey.

Written and directed by Raut, ‘Adipurush’ film features Prabhas as Lord Ram, Kriti as Sita and Saif Ali Khan as Raavan. They play the roles of Raghava, Janaki and Lankesh, respectively, in the film, while Devdatta Nage essays Bajrang.
The film is expected to shatter box-office records.
