[Watch] Odisha Man’s Alexa-Powered Diwali Firework; Video Goes Viral

Bhubaneswar: As Diwali festivities gripped the entire nation amid sparkling fireworks, a man in Odisha gave a new and interesting twist by sharing a video showing a unique style of celebrating the festival.

The video shows the man using Amazon’s Alexa device to launch a small Diwali rocket. The video has reportedly gained over 13 million views on Instagram.

The video, shared by Mani’s Projects Lab, features a man commanding his Amazon Alexa with, “Alexa, launch the rocket.” Alexa responds with, “Yes, Boss, launching the rocket,” and the firework takes off. This unique blend of technology and tradition has sparked excitement among many viewers.

Social media users, however, were rather intrigued upon witnessing the experiment and asked Mani to explain the process.

Mani, stated to be a BTech, shared the tutorial on YouTube in which he taught how to build a smart rocket launch system using Alexa with an ESP32/ESP8266 microcontroller.

“With voice control enabled through Alexa, you can trigger a relay to simulate a rocket launch remotely,” Mani said, expressing his longstanding passion for conducting experiments.
