Watch: Odisha’s ‘Dancing Sir’ Makes The Right Moves, Wins Internet

Koraput: A schoolteacher from Odisha has won the internet with his unique style of teaching, a video of which is doing the rounds on social media. He is Prafulla Kumar Pathi, the in-charge headmaster of Lamtaput upper primary school in Koraput district.

In the video, he can be seen teaching in an animated manner and the students seem to enjoy every bit of it while gesticulating even more exuberantly. This method of teaching, which he adopted in 2008 while working as a resource person with Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, has won him the title of ‘Dancing Sir’.

The video was uploaded on Facebook by Pathi himself on August 21 and has since seen 1.3K shares.

According to the teacher, he has been able to whet his students’ interest in studies through such song-and-dance sequence. “The kids are more inclined to attend school. This method which involves physical activities helps to keep the students alert even after midday meal when there are chances of them falling asleep,” Hindustan Times has quoted him as saying.

Pathi’s method has reportedly helped to contain school dropouts. More power to this teacher, who is determined to ensure a bright future for his students.
