London: In a miraculous incident, a passenger flight had a close shave while trying to land at Heathrow airport amid Storm Corrie in the UK.
A video has gone viral in which a British Airways plane from Scotland’s Aberdeen is seen attempting to touch down on the runway, but its nose lifts upwards and the tail nearly touches the ground. The pilot managed to abort landing, and took off again to avoid what could have been a disastrous accident on Monday.
At that time, the UK was hit by Storm Corrie, which saw wind speeds of up to 145 kmph and left thousands of houses without electricity.

“Our pilots are highly trained to manage a range of scenarios, including extreme weather conditions, and our flight crew landed the aircraft safely,” a British Airways spokesperson said.
Netizens were all praise for the pilot, whose timely manoeuvring and decision not to attempt landing again may have saved several lives.
