Puri: President Ram Nath Kovind visited the Jagannath Temple in Puri on Saturday afternoon to pay obeisance to the deities. He was accompanied by Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal, SJTA chief administrator, the District Collector and sevayats.
Gajapati Maharaj Dibyasingh Deb was not present during Kovind’s visit to the Jagannath Temple after testing positive for COVID-19 on Friday.
He was to have received Kovind at the Singhadwar and escorted him inside along with other key temple administrators.
Kovind arrived in Puri on a special IAF chopper from Odisha’s capital.
Earlier, the Odisha Governor and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik welcomed the President on his arrival at the Biju Patnaik International Airport on a special IAF flight. He is on a two-day visit to Puri.
