Mumbai: Amid reported death threats allegedly originating from Pakistan, choreographer-filmmaker Remo D’Souza recently attended the Mahakumbh Mela 2025 in disguise.
Remo, who was accompanied by his wife Lizelle D’Souza, shared photos and videos of his incognito spiritual visit to Prayagraj on his social media handle.
In one of the videos, Remo is seen taking a dip in the holy waters of Triveni Sangam.
Dressed in an all-black traditional attire, the choreographer covered his face partially to maintain anonymity and blend in with the crowd.
In the video, Remo is also seen seeking blessings from Swami Kailashanand Giri Maharaj.
Remo shared the video with hashtags #harhargange, #mahakumbh2025, #mahakumbhmela2025, #uttarpradeshtourism, and #prayagraj.
Recently, there were reports of Remo, Kapil Sharma, Rajpal Yadav and Sugandha Mishra having received death threats from Pakistan.
An FIR has been registered in Mumbai in connection with the threats, and an investigation is underway.
The threat, sent through email, read: “We are monitoring your recent activities and we believe it is important that we bring to your attention a sensitive matter. This is not a publicity stunt or an attempt to harass you, we urge you to treat this message with utmost seriousness and confidentiality.”
However, Remo’s wife Lizelle dismissed the reports. “Even we read it in the media. We got spam emails on the company email ID regarding something else, for which we informed the cops. The cyber department is looking into it, and they also feel it’s spam,” she told Hindustan Times.
