Bhubaneswar: Kalahandi district in Odisha experienced hailstorm on January 11, the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Department tweeted on Thursday.
A road in the district had turned white and commuters can be seen stopping by to play with the hailstones in the video.

Notably, the MeT office on Wednesday had forecast isolated thunderstorm accompanied with hail and heavy rain in some districts of the state till January 14.

It has issued yellow warning for thunderstorm with lightning and hail for the next two days.

Yellow Warming (from 8.30 am of Jan 13 till 8.30 am of Jan 14):
Thunderstorm with lightning and hail is very likely to occur at one or two places in Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sonepur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Balangir, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Rayagada, Nayagarh, Cuttack and Ganjam.
Heavy rainfall is very likely at one or two places in Kandhamal, Boudh, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Rayagada and Ganjam.
While most places in the rest of Odisha may experience light to moderate rain or thundershower.
Yellow Warning (from 8.30 am of Jan 14 to 8.30 am of Jan 15):
Thunderstorm with lightning and hail is very likely at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Khordha, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri.
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places in interior Odisha and at many places in coastal Odisha.
