Mumbai: Almost three years after Irrfan Khan breathed his last, his films are still as popular as ever.
One of India’s most versatile and powerful actors, Irrfan had the ability to carry a film on his shoulders.
Cine lovers had been eagerly looking forward to his last film ‘The Song of Scorpions’. The wait will soon be over, as ‘The Song of Scorpions’ will hit the big screen on April 28, a day before Irrfan’s third death anniversary.
The trailer of the movie was launched on Wednesday. Co-starring with Irrfan are Tillotama Shome, Shashank Arra and veteran actress Waheeda Rehman who will be seen in a film after a long time.
“Bringing alive a heart-wrenching tale of love, obsession and betrayal. #TheSongOfScorpions Trailer out now,” Irrfan’s son Babil Khan wrote on Instagram alongside the trailer.
‘The Song of Scorpions’ is written and directed by Anup Singh, who also directed Irrfan and Tillotama in the 2013 post-Partition drama ‘Qissa’.
Irrfan plays the role of a camel trader in ‘The Song of Scorpions’, which revolves around an independent young tribal woman, played by Iranian actor Golshifteh Farahani who tries to overcome a brutal betrayal to find her voice.
Irrfan’s last release was ‘Angrezi Medium’, which hit theatres a month before his death. He died at the age of 54 after battling a rare form of cancer for two years.
