[Watch] Woman Kills 2-Yr-Old Stepson; Hangs Self In Odisha’s Cuttack! Check Her Last FB Post
Cuttack: A woman was found hanging inside her house at Sriramnagar under Madhupatna police limits in Odisha’s Cuttack on Sunday night. The deceased has been identified as Shilpi Khuntia.
According to sources, Shilpi’s husband received a call from the owner of the rented accommodation, informing him that she was not opening the door on Monday morning. The body of her 2-year-old stepson Shivan with a slit throat was also found lying in a pool of blood. It is alleged that the woman committed suicide after killing Shivan.
Shilpi’s Facebook profile with a display picture reading, “I quit. Because that was the only option. Until…”, hints that she was under extreme mental duress.
Her family also alleged that her husband had been torturing her and was financially dependent on her. “We accepted the kid with all our hearts and never held any grudges against him. Recently, Shilpi’s husband went through open heart surgery, but we could not provide any financial support following which she joined a private company. Her husband, however, never supported her decision,” the deceased’s brother told the media.
While Santosh was an engineer, Shilpi worked as an account admin at Fastfix Automotive. She had earlier joined as a lecturer at Satyasai Engineering College, Balasore, having studied civil engineering at Synergy Institute of Engineering and Technology.
Meanwhile, Shilpi’s husband claimed that her family was torturing him. He said that Shilpi used to accuse her mother-in-law of performing black magic on the minor kid. “My in-laws never behaved properly with me. It is because of them my relationship with Shilpi soured. My mother contacted my mother-in-law to sort out all misunderstandings but they did not respond,” he said.
Shilpi married him after the death of his first wife. “Shilpi was always after money. She began fighting with my son a few days after marriage and forced him to shift to Cuttack, away from us,” claimed her mother-in-law.
