‘Convergence Of Efforts Key To Sustainable Development’
Bhubaneswar: A webinar was organized to discuss sustainable community development model approaches and challenges on the 16th Annual Day of Mahashakti Foundation, a leading livelihood development organization of Odisha on Tuesday.
The programme was inaugurated by Odisha’s Minister for SC & ST Development, Minorities and Backward classes Welfare Department Jagannath Saraka, while Mahashakti Foundation president Santosh Kumar Mishra delivered the welcome address.
The panelists discussed ways to conduct research by identifying issues of the community, and addressing them so as to empower the beneficiaries.
“The sustainable development of community requires the convergence effort of the government, private, corporate, financial institutions and other stakeholders together… Sustainable development is possible only if the knowledge, skill, financial support and marketing, value chain support systems are provided to the needy when it is required,” they stated.
The event was attended by 100 staff members and beneficiaries of different projects of Mahashakti from Khurda, Bargarh, Jagatsinghpur and Kalahandi districts. They spoke on how the “institution has touched their lives and they have earned a reputation and respect in their societies”.
Ex-CGM of NABARD KC Panigrahi, DDM NABARD of Kalahandi Malay Kumar Meher, Associate Director Smart Power India Satya Chaube, COO of Skill Development Institute Rajesh Tripathi were among those who were part of the webinar.
