Bhubaneswar: A thief, who had decamped with valuables from three wedding receptions in the Odisha capital, was arrested by Khandagiri police here on Wednesday.
The accused has been identified as SK Abdul Latif.
Around Rs 4 lakh, other stolen items and two vehicles were seized from his possession.
According to police sources, Latif was arrested in connection with a theft during a wedding reception under Khandagiri police limits in 2019. One such centre tipped the police when he was there to fix his vehicle, following which he was nabbed.
Two more loot cases are registered against him.
Police are investigating whether he was part of a gang and also his involvement in the loot at a wedding mandap at Chandrashekharpur on February 29.
