Bhubaneswar: Apple Inc. unveiled new iPhone 16 models – iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max – at “Its’Glowtime” event.
While the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will have features to capture spatial video, the iPhone Pro and iPhone Pro Max models will have an advanced rear camera, chipset, AI capabilities, enhanced battery life, and display size, making these models costlier.
The new iPhone 16 boasts a physical camera button. Apple Intelligence features will be available subsequently, starting with the US next month and new regions over time.
The new iPhone 16 will be available in black, white, pink, teal, and ultramarine colourways. These will hit the shelves in India starting September 20, while pre-orders are available from September 13.
Despite featuring a more powerful CPU, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus maintain the same starting prices as their previous versions. The 256GB iPhone 16 is priced at Rs 89,900, while the 512GB model costs Rs 1,09,900. The iPhone 16 Plus, on the other hand, starts at Rs 99,900 for the 256GB version and goes up to Rs 1,19,900 for the 512GB variant.
Meanwhile, the made-in-India iPhone 16 series will be available to global customers within a few days of its sales launch, according to a report by Economic Times.
Foxconn, one of Apple’s primary contract manufacturers in India, has reportedly commenced production of the iPhone 16 series. For the first time, Apple’s iPhone models will be shipped from Indian factories.
