Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will leave on a 4-day trip to New Delhi this evening, official sources said on Wednesday.
While the CM is said to have some official engagements in the national capital, the timing of his visit, coming as it does a day after he meet Bihar CM Nitish Kumar in Bhubaneswar, has evoked lot of curiosity in political circles.
Speculation is rife that Naveen might call on his Delhi counterpart and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal in what could further send signals that BJD is trying to play footsie with non-BJP parties interested to cobble an anti-NDA coalition. Naveen’s gameplan could well be aimed at forewarning the BJP top bosses in case they plan to upset his applecart in Odisha with an eye on the 2024 twin polls.
