Bengaluru: Internet consumption, particularly mobile data, has increased rapidly amid the lockdown measures imposed in the country. In order to reduce load on networks, popular messaging app WhatsApp on Monday decided to limit the Status video time from 30 seconds to 15 seconds in India.
WhatsApp has 400 million users in India and a lot of them are reportedly sharing more content during the lockdown.
This move by Facebook-owned app will reduce strain on its servers and telecom networks as well, experts noted.
