New Delhi: Every year WhatsApp, the instant messaging platform, ends its support for a number of cell phones and 2022 is no different. As the year 2022 comes to a close, WhatsApp is also ending support for some Android phones and iPhone models. This should seem concerning, but most users do not need to worry because the support that WhatsApp is ending is for phones running on old and outdated operating systems.
According to a report in GizChina, WhatsApp is ending support for nearly 47 smartphones across brands on December 31. This means that after December 31, users of those phones will no longer be able to get updates, including new features and security updates from WhatsApp. Eventually, the service will stop working for these phones.
It is worth mentioning here that most of the phones in the list are years old and chances are they are used by very select people. In fact, some of them are so old that no one may be using them anymore. In other words, most smartphone users should not be worried over WhatsApp ending support 47 phones.
