New Delhi: There were mixed reactions from those not directly associated with politics to the NDA’s landslide victory in Bihar. While American singer Mary Milliben hit out at Rahul Gandhi and the Congress, comedian Kunal Kamra called the elections rigged.
Mary, an ardent fan of Narendra Modi, was in the news recently for calling out Rahul for saying that the Indian Prime Minister is afraid of US president Donald Trump.
“PM Narendra Modi is not afraid of President Trump. PM Modi understands the long game, and his diplomacy with the US is strategic. Just as @POTUS will always put America’s interests first, so will PM Modi do what is best for India. And I applaud that. That’s what Heads of State do,” Mary had posted on X, following which she was trolled by Congress supporters.
She hit back after the Bihar Assembly election results were announced on Friday and the NDA inches towards the 200-figure mark.
Sharing an AI video of her being crowned by Modi, the singer posted: “Dear Rahul Gandhi, Congress, and all the ‘Gandhi Goons’ trolling me on X several weeks ago and now following my friend PM Narendra Modi and the BJP sweeping the Bihar election today.”
Kamra, however, took a potshot at Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Taking to X, the comedian wrote: “Send Gyanesh Kumar to Nepal, BJP will form a government there…”
Earlier on Friday, Kamra had posted: “Match Is Fixed. Switch The TV Off.”
The stand up comedian is already in legal trouble for allegedly lampooning Maharashtra deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde during a show in Mumbai. The Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) went on a rampage thereafter and attacked the club where the show was held.
FIRs were also registered against Kamra, who had to obtain anticipatory bail from the High Court to evade arrest..
