Mumbai: Forbes has recently released the world’s Best Employers rankings 2022.

South Korean smartphone and electronics maker Samsung tops the list, followed by tech giants Microsoft, IBM, Alphabet and Apple.

As for Indian employers, Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) is the best. Not only that, Reliance figures among top 20 employers worldwide.

Reliance, which has 230,0000 employees, has been ranked No. 20 and is the only Indian company in the top 100.

The other seven Indian companies in top 500 of Forbes’ global Best Employers 2022 list — compiled by Statista — are HDFC Bank (137th place), Bajaj (173rd), Aditya Birla Group (240th), Larsen & Toubro (354th), ICICI Bank (365th), HCL Technologies (455th) and State Bank of India (499th).

Following toppers Samsung, from 2nd to 12th positions are all American companies.

German carmaker BMW, retailer Amazon and sports retailer Decathlon occupy 13th, 14th and 15th places on the list.

The rankings are based on research involving surveys of 150,000 full-time and part-time employees working for multinationals and institutions across 57 countries.

Employees were asked to rate companies based on economic performance on impact and image, talent development, gender equality, social responsibility, etc.

“Participants were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their employers to friends and family and to evaluate other employers in their respective industries that stood out either positively or negatively,” Forbes said.

The 2022 list comprises the top 800 companies according to their scores.

Last year also, Reliance emerged as the best Indian employer, but were ranked lower – at No. 52.
