Wholesale Fish Market In Odisha’s Balasore To Come Up With Rs 70 Crore
Balasore: The Odisha government would take up construction of a wholesale market for fish and prawn at Baharda under Basta block of Balasore district with a cost of Rs 70 crore on priority basis.
This was stated by secretary (5T) to chief minister VK Pandian in Baharda on the second day of his visit to the district on Friday. He also went to places of different projects and reviewed their progress.
He discussed various issues with the Bus Owners’ Association and Truck Owners’ Association and reviewed the progress of the work at Sahadevkhunta Bus Stand under Sadar block. He directed the officials for its early completion.
Later, he visited Utkal Balashram, Sahadevkhunta under Balasore Municipality and interacted with students at Modern Library. He also met the members of Mission Shakti groups and local people and heard their grievances.
During his visit to Promenade at Chandipur, Pandian directed Balasore collector to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for development of the tourism site.
He went to Chandaneswar Temple at Chandaneswar under Bhograi block and held discussion on temple development with the temple committee members and local people. Following the meeting, he told the collector to submit a DPR for beautification and development of the temple and its premises.
The 5T secretary then proceeded to Talsari meeting ground where he interacted with the WSHG members and local community. He also visited multi-purpose hall at Jaleswar and interacted with the sportspersons and assured them support.
Special Secretary to chief minister and Sports & Youth Services secretary R Vineel Krishna, DIG Himanshu Lal, Collector Sh Datta, SP Sagarika Nath and district level offcials accompanied Pandian during the visit.
