Mumbai: A day after the Supreme Court ordered for a CBI probe into Sushant SIngh Rajput death case, a team of the central investigating agency reached Mumbai on Thursday evening.
While directing the Mumbai police to assit the CBI in this case, the SC on Wednesday also said that the agency will investigate all cases connected to the actor’s death.
Shortly after the verdict, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy’s advocate Ishkaran Bhandari tweeted a video message, saying that the apex court has directed the CBI to investigate any other case registered on the death of the actor and the surrounding circumstances of his unnatural death.
“In paragraph 41 of the judgment, the top court has said that all cases connected to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput will also go to CBI. Therefore, if the CBI finds Disha Salian’s death or destruction of evidence is connected to the case then it will be with the central agency. So, the court has gone way beyond what most people were expecting and has done substantial and complete justice,” he added.
The 34-year-old actor was found hanging in his residence in Mumbai on June 14, a week after Disha allegedly fell to death.
Sushant’s friends have been claiming that he was deeply distrurbed by the death of Disha and was planning to hold a press conference to reveal some secret details, which allegedly lead to his death.
On August 5, a PIL was also filed in the Supreme Court seeking a court-monitored CBI probe into the death of the 28-year-old.
