New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the list of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2021 exam centre cities two days ago. But the question is, will the medical entrance test be postponed?
The scheduled date of the exam is September 12, but the clamour for postponement is growing.
Candidates have been reaching out to NTA over the past few weeks, urging it to postpone NEET 2021.
A poll conducted by Times Now saw nearly 88% respondents wanting the entrance exam to be postponed.
Nearly 50,000 votes were cast in the online poll, of which 87.91% respondents said ‘Yes’ in favour of postponing NEET to October, while just about 6,000 students voted for no change in exam date.
One of the NEET aspirants, who will appear for CBSE Class 12 Physics improvement exam as she was not satisfied with the marks awarded, explained her problem.
“CBSE Class 12 Physics is on September 9 and NEET is on September 12. This is very worrying as I need to revise for both. Even two weeks delay would help,” she told Times Now.
Another NEET candidate said he faced a similar predicament as he wanted to register for ICAR.
“But I am confused since ICAR is on September 13… I hope NEET is postponed,” he wished.
There are many who are seeking more time because of vaccination. One NEET candidate pointed out his second dose is in the second week of September and that he would like to be fully vaccinated when he appears for the exam.
Acknowledging the request mails, NTA has asked students to be patient and check the official website neet.nta.nic.in for any possible update.
