Mumbai: Paresh Rawal’s exit from the cult comedy franchise, ‘Hera Pheri 3’ has not only left fans disheartened, but also sparked speculation on who will be stepping into Baburao’s shoes.
Pankaj Tripathi is one name doing the rounds on internet to replace Rawal as Baburao.
Fans believe that after stepping into Rawal’s shoes in ‘OMG 2’, it’s only Pankaj who can do justice to Baburao’s character in ‘Hera Pheri 3’.
However, the ‘Criminal Justice’ actor feels that Rawal is an amazing actor and he can never be as good as the latter.
Asked about the buzz over the role of Baburao, Pankaj told Bollywood Hungama, “That is something I have also heard and read. I don’t believe in it. Paresh ji is an amazing actor. I am zero in front of him. I respect him a lot. I don’t think I am the right person for the role.”
After Rawal confirmed his exit from the film, reports suggested that Akshay Kumar, through his production house, Cape of Good Films, has sent a legal notice to the actor for unprofessional conduct.
Rawal took to his X handle on Sunday and confirmed, “I wish to put it on record that my decision to step away from Hera Pheri 3 was not due to creative differences. I REITERATE THAT THERE ARE NO CREATIVE DISAGREEMENTS WITH THE FILMMAKER. I hold immense love, respect, and faith in Mr Priyadarshan, the film’s director.”
Meanwhile, Pankaj Tripathi will next be seen in ‘Criminal Justice 4’, which also features Barkha Singh, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Surveen Chawla, Mita Vasisht, Asha Negi, Shweta Basu Prasad and Khushboo Atre.
The show will be streaming on JioHotstar from May 29.
