Bhubaneswar: With the winter session of the Odisha Assembly beginning on Friday, chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday appealed to the members and people in general to be extremely careful and follow the COVID-19 guidelines in letter and spirit.
In a release, the chief minister said, “It may be a long haul for us. We need to ensure that people of our state properly follow the prescriptions to protect themselves from the virus.”
He asked all the members to attend the Assembly regularly and participate in the proceedings. “We are always ready to debate issues on the floor of the House and welcome constructive suggestions,” he said.
Naveen also thanked the BJD leaders and people to have elected party candidates in the recently concluded bypolls to Balasore and Tirtol Assembly constituencies.
Meanwhile, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Bikram Keshari Arukha said the session will continue till December 31 with 40 working days. The supplementary budget for 2020-21 will be tabled on the evening of the first day of the session.
