Bhubaneswar: The leaders of all three major parties in Odisha – BJP, BJD and Congress – attended the all-party meeting, convened by Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy on Monday ahead of the winter session of the House.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, the Speaker said she had convened the all-party meeting as per the Assembly norms. Chief Minister and Leader of the House Mohan Charan Majhi, chief whip of Opposition BJD Pramila Mallik and Congress Legislative Party Leader Ramchandra Kadam among others participated in the meeting.
“We held discussion on smooth and productive way of transacting business during the winter session of the Assembly. The leaders of all parties agreed to extend their support in this regard,” she said.
Senior leader of BJD Pratap Keshari Deb said his party would raise several major issues in the state during the session. The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) will hold a meeting to chalk out their strategies for the session.
The winter session of the Assembly is scheduled to begin on November 26. It will have 30 business days and conclude on December 31.
As per the Assembly schedule, the First Supplementary Statement of Expenditure for 2024-25 will be presented in the House on November 26. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who also holds the Finance Department, will present the Appropriation Bill on the First Supplementary Statement of Expenditure for 2024-25 on December 5.
