Woman Announces Bounty Of Rs 50,000 On Social Media To Kill Spouse
Agra: In an unusual incident, a man filed a complaint against his wife after he saw her WhatsApp status, which read, “A reward of Rs 50,000 will be given to the one who kills the husband.”
In his formal complaint, the husband said that he married a woman from a village in Bhind in Madhya Pradesh on July 9, 2022. Subsequently, they started experiencing frequent arguments and conflicts. After enduring an unhappy marriage for five months, the woman departed from her husband’s residence in Bah in December 2022 and returned to her parents’ home. She has been residing with her parents ever since.
As per the complaint, the woman has also initiated a maintenance suit at a police station in Bhind.
The husband alleged that on December 21, 2023, his in-laws threatened his life while he was returning from Bhind. Soon after, his wife posted the WhatsApp status.
The husband further claimed that his wife was involved in an extramarital relationship with a tenant residing in the neighbouring house, according to a report in ETV Bharat. He maintained that this alleged affair was the primary cause of all disputes throughout their marriage. “Her lover, too, has threatened to kill me over a telephonic call,” the report quoted him as saying.
Shyam Singh, the Bah police station in-charge, has stated that a case has been filed against the woman, and an investigation is currently in progress.
Meanwhile, in a similar case reported in Gurugram in 2019, where it was alleged that the wife purportedly paid Rs 16 lakh to her husband’s killers.
