Angul: Pallahara MLA Mukesh Kumar Pal has lodged a complaint against a woman, after she barged into his house at Balipasi village in Angul district.
Pal had to call in the police as the woman refused to leave his residence.
The woman, originally from Mayurbhanj district and settled in Keonjhar, has also lodged a counter complaint against the MLA at Pallahara police station.
Pal stated in his complaint that the woman reached his house at Balipasi around 2 pm on Monday while he was away at a meeting in his constituency- Kharmar. She claimed that Pal had promised to marry her about six months back.
She waited for Pal’s return and confronted him on his return in the night. Pal alleged in his complaint that the woman threatened to ruin his political career.
He met the woman as part of a matrimonial alliance through a common friend about a year back. Though he initially was looking forward to the alliance, he later turned down the proposal about six months back as their ideas did not match, said Pal in his complaint.
Police dropped the woman in Keonjhar after interrogation.
