Lucknow: Passers-by and onlookers were surprised to come across a bizarre sight in the middle of a busy road in Jhansi.
They watched from a distance as a man and a woman beat up another woman.
According to police, the man and his girlfriend got aggressive after the former’s wife ‘caught’ them together on Friday.
A video of the incident, which has gone viral on social media, showed the man, identified as Shivam Yadav, and his girlfriend thrashing his wife Mohini who spotted the duo in a market area in Shivaji Nagar.
Mohini, who got injured, lodged a police complaint, demanding action against the accused.
Mohini told mediapersons later that she had not been keeping well and went out to buy medicine when she found Shivam and his girlfriend.
She protested against their relationship, angering the duo got who turned on her.
“I had gone to the medical store to change medicine. I met Shivam, who was accompanied by a woman. Shivam is my husband. When I protested, the woman started abusing me, and then both of them beat me up,” Mohini alleged.
A video clip, recorded by a bystander, showed the duo abusing Mohini, slapping and kicking her. Shivam’s girlfriend was seen pulling Mohini by the hair and dragging her to the middle of the road. Traffic came to a halt and a big crowd gathered to witness the drama.
Shivam and his girlfriend fled the spot on his bike. A case has been registered them, and police are investigating the matter.
