Puri: In a heinous incident, a woman was allegedly gang-raped in front of her husband and her one-and-a-half-year-old son in Brahmagiri area of Puri district.
The incident, reported to have taken place late on Friday night under Arakhakunda Marine Police limits, came to light after the rape survivor lodged a complaint.
As per reports, the woman filed a complaint against two people, Trinath Behera and his associate Bulu Behera following which one has been detained.
A medical examination of the victim was conducted, sources informed.
According to the complaint filed, Trinath who the couple knew, called her husband to a mango orchard and offered him liquor. Trinath and his associate then attacked and tied up his hands and legs. When her husband screamed for help, she rushed to the spot. But the two under the spell of liquor dragged her to another place and gang-raped her. They also pushed her toddler son towards the bush nearby.
The victim’s husband told media, “After I returned home from work, Trinath and Bulu (accused) took me to a place and offered me liquor. Then they tied me to a bush and raped my wife in front of me. The incident took place at around 11.30 pm.”
