[Watch] Woman In Wheelchair ‘Denied Entry To Hotel’ In Gurugram, Owner Tweets Apology; Pooja Bhatt Reacts

Gurugram: A physically challenged woman was “denied” entry into a fancy restaurant in Gurugram because she was in a wheelchair. After her tweets went viral and received huge traction, the owner took to the social media site to tender an apology.

Goumtesh Singh, Founder Partner at Raasta, wrote: “Let me start by apologising on behalf of entire team for any bad experience that you may have had. Please rest assured if any of our members is found in the wrong, appropriate action will be taken against them.”

He also wrote that the hotel stands for inclusivity. 

Srishti, the physically-challenged woman, took to Twitter to narrate her harrowing experience of being “denied” entry into a fancy restaurant in Gurugram because she was in a wheelchair.

Sharing her ordeal, Shristi also shared a video of he incident. She tweeted that a staff member at Raasta Gurgaon told them other customers “will get disturbed” if she went in with the wheelchair.

In a live interview with NDTV, when asked to explain the management’s actions, Singh said the manager who was on duty has been let go but refused to comment further.

“I would just like to talk to Srishti and would like to apologise to her,” he said and abruptly ended the call.

After several tweets, Gurugram Police responded and asked her to share her details for further action.

On the other hand, actress and producer-director Pooja Bhat racted to the incident saying, “We suffer from an absolute lack of grace as a society.”
