Woman Injured In Attack By Her Son’s In-Law Family In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A woman was seriously injured in an alleged brutal attack by the family of her son’s in-law family at Sailashree Vihar, here on Monday.

According to the complaint filed with police in this regard, the woman, identified as Purnima Mohanty, was victimised following marital discord between her son and his wife.

A few days after the marriage of Purnima’s son Sandip some time back, difference developed between him and his wife who returned to her parents’ house. In order to resolve the marital issues, Sandip approached a court and a legal notice was issued to his wife.

The police complaint stated that the family members of Sandip’s wife allegedly broke into his house and attacked Purnima with a sharp weapon, injuring her seriously on the head. She has been admitted to a hospital in a critical condition. The attack was captured in a CCTV camera installed nearby.

After Sandip’s family lodged a complaint at Chandrasekharpur police station on the incident, the police have started investigation.
