Ganjam: Police on Monday detained a man for allegedly killing his wife at Teligada Mundasahi village under Badachana police limits in Ganjam district.
The deceased has been identified as Nisarani Senapati (36).
According to sources, the accused, identified as Babula Senapati (42), hit her head with a stone following a heated exchange of words at around 8.30 this morning, leading to her death.
On bring informed, Chamakhand police reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem. They also detained the accused for interrogation.
The exact reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, the sources added.
