Kamakshyanagar: Body of a woman was fished out from an abandoned pond at Kamakshyanagar in Dhenkanal district on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Madhusmita Sahu, a resident of Jatia village in the district.
The victim’s family members, including her father, suspect that she was murdered and the body later dumped in the water body.
On being informed, police seized the body and sent it for postmortem to determine the exact cause of the death.
In a separate incident, a man was found dead with his throat slit at Banchhguda ion Malkangiri district. Police suspect involvement of Maoists in the killing.
