Woman’s Murder In Train At Bhubaneswar Station: GRP Arrests Husband From Surat

Bhubaneswar: Around 6 months after a woman was found murdered in a toilet of Dhanbad Express at Bhubaneswar, the GRP has arrested her husband.

During investigation into the case, the GRP had suspected involvement of the woman’s husband and tracked his mobile phone. The GRP traced him in Surat of Gujarat and arrested him. They were bringing him to Bhubaneswar.

The woman’s body, whose identity has not been revealed, was recovered from the toilet of Dhanbad Express on April 20. The GRP suspected that she was murdered inside the train while travelling from Rourkela to Bhubaneswar.

The post-mortem report revealed that she was 25-30 years of age and was murdered 24 to 34 hours before the post-mortem. She was captured in CCTV camera with a youth at Rourkela station around 11 pm on April 19 when she boarded the Dhanbad Express. The train arrived at platform-6 of Bhubaneswar station at 8.05 am next day.

Her body was found inside the lavatory of S/5 coach of the train by a technician checking the upper gear of the train at the yard at 11.55 am the following day. The postmortem was conducted on April 21.

The reason behind murder can be known only after her identity is ascertained, a GRP official said.
