Women Army Officers To Get Pension After A Year
New Delhi: New Delhi: Women Army officers who have not received pension for almost a year will finally get their retirement benefits.
The Defence Accounts Department (DAD) has written to Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pensions) to process pension cases of short-service commission (SSC) female officers in compliance of a two-year-old Supreme Court order, Hindustan Times reported quoting sources.
These officers will receive pension for February along with arrears by the end of this month.
The Defence ministry’s department of ex-service welfare (DESW) had clarified that SSC women officers who retired after 20 years of service are eligible for pension, as per Supreme Court’s order.
