Bhubaneswar: In a significant move, the Odisha government has urged women staying outside the state to available benefit under Subhadra Yojana.
Stating that the fourth phase of first instalment money will be disbursed soon, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida said eligible women living outside the state can consider applying for the scheme as soon as possible.
It has come to notice that many women are currently living outside the state and have not yet applied to join the scheme, Parida said. “We will ensure that these women get financial assistance under the scheme. I urge them to apply soon,” she told reporters.
The Deputy CM had recently underlined the need for the applicants to properly update KYC. Over 2 lakh beneficiaries are yet to update their KYC, following which she had urged everyone to complete this process before the roll-out of the fourth phase, slated for late January 2025.
Over 20 lakh women are set to receive financial assistance under the scheme soon when the fourth phase money is disbursed. The date for the release of the fourth phase money will be announced after an inquiry takes place to account for the number of applicants.
Notably, the Odisha cabinet approved March 31, 2025, as the deadline for registration to avail benefits under the Subhadra Yojana for the financial year 2024-25. The assistance under the scheme will be released twice a year: International Women’s Day on March 8 and Raksha Bandhan in August.
