Ganjam: Hundreds of women of Pratapur in Ganjam district took to the streets to protest against liquor selling units in their locality.
Shouting anti-liquor slogans and holding placards, a large number of women and children along with their
family members staged a dharna and blocked Humma-Aska road, demanding immediate closure of the liquor units.
“The liquor business is having a negative impact on the locality. The district administration must take immediate steps to close these units,” said an agitator.
They lifted the blockade only after police and district officials assured them that their demand would be looked into.
