Work On Palasuni FOB To Start In July: Bhubaneswar MP
Bhubaneswar: BJP leader and Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi informed that work on a foot overbridge (FOB) at Palasuni will start in July and get over by Dussehra.
The MP said that she discussed the construction of the FOB, which will have lifts, with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Last year, she had announced that the NHAI would construct two FOBs in the capital city — one near Hotel Crown and another at Palasuni.
Palasuni, which sees heavy traffic, is an accident-prone area. The place routinely sees pedestrian deaths, crushed by vehicles while trying to cross the road dodging heavy traffic.
Palasuni was in news last week after a government engineer was killed in an accident involving multiple vehicles on NH-16.
A truck had stopped as some people were crossing the road. Three cars and a truck behind it slowed down but a Hyva truck rammed into them, hitting a white car, whose occupants had a miraculous escape, and then crushing a blue car killing the engineer.
On Monday, Aparajita went to see the preparatory work of the Khurda Town Bypass Road and spoke to officials and local residents. The Centre has approved Rs 157.49 crore for the project.
