Damanjodi: A worker lost his leg while two others sustained critical injuries in a chemical container blast at NALCO Damanjodi plant in Koraput district on Thursday.
According to sources, Gurutara’s leg got severed in the explosion which took place while they were opening an old iron gate at the unit and the container nearby caught fire. The three were working as welders at the plant.
Following the mishap, the injured were rushed to a hospital in Visakhapatnam for treatment. The condition of one of them was stated to be critical, the sources added.
