Rourkela: One more person was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the World Cup Cricket betting racket busted earlier in Rourkela.
A passport and 3,000 US dollar were seized from the possession of the arrested.
Notably, a cricket betting racket was busted and two bookies arrested from Daily Market in the Steel City late on Monday. The accused persons were identified as Sunil Kumar Singhal (38) and Nagarmal Agarwal (58).
Acting on tip-off, Rourkela Plant Site Police had conducted a raid on the market and found the two accepting bets on their mobile phones during Bangladesh and Afghanistan World Cup match.
Police also seized Rs 33 lakh, 15 mobile phones, a TV and calculators from their possession.
