Rain delayed the start of the much-awaited World Cup match between India and New Zealand at Trent Bridge, England on Thursday.
The ground staff will carry out an inspection around 4 pm (India time) to check if the pitch was ready for cricket. Otherwise, there is a possibility this match can also be cancelled like three previous World Cup encounters.
Before the India-New Zealand match, the Pakistan-Sri Lanka encounter was washed out. It was a double whammy for Sri Lanka, when its match against Bangladesh at Bristol was also called off without a ball being bowled. Rain also played a spoilsport in the match between South Africa and West Indies.
