World Cup Hockey: Odisha Star Amit Rohidas Scores India’s 1st Goal Vs Spain In Rourkela

Rourkela: Odisha star Amit Rohidas scored from a rasping drive following a penalty corner in the 13th minute to hand India the lead against Spain in their World cup Hockey 2023 opener at Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium here on Friday evening.

It was the 200th World Cup goal for India, who have featured in all 15 editions of the tournament.

Indians made a promising start in the Pool D contest against Spain to lead 1-0 in the first quarter.

In the first match, Britain routed World Cup debutants Wales 5-0.
