World Environment Day: SOA Bhubaneswar Participates In Live Streaming Of PM’s Speech

Bhubaneswar: Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) observed World Environment Day with a plethora of programmes here this week.

One of the highlights was 50 participants, including faculty members and students, attending the live streaming of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address on the occasion, organized at SOA by Indian Oil Corporation Ltd’s Odisha state office on June 5.

The theme of World Environment Day 2021 was ‘Ecosystem Restoration’. The university’s NSS Wing and SOA Wellness Centre conducted an online debate competition themed ‘India’s Green Future’ in three languages — English, Hindi and Odia.

Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das, Dean, Students’ Welfare and Prof. Nachiketa K Sharma, Director, University Outreach Programme conducted the events, while Dr Hiranmaya Nanda, faculty, SNIL, was the coordinator.

A quiz competition on environment was held online on June 7, with more than 400 students taking part. It was organised by Prof. Das.
