Bhubaneswar: Suchitra Parida did Odisha proud by claiming two medals at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix-2025 in Paris.
Competing in the women’s javelin F55 category, Suchitra earned the silver medal with a personal best effort of 17.98 metres at the Charlety Stadium.
The 31-year-old para athlete followed it up with a bronze in women’s shot put F54/F55 category. Her best throw of 5.43 metres was good enough for third-place finish.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi congratulated Suchitra, who had clinched javelin gold at the New Delhi GP in March.
“Your success at the Para Athletics Grand Prix-2025 in Paris is a matter of pride for not only Odisha but also India. Your dedication and love for the sports will definitely encourage many others,” Majhi posted on X.
