World Record: 15 Lakh Diyas Light Up Ayodhya To Mark Deepotsav; See Images
Ayodhya: The temple town Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya set a Guinness World Record for the maximum number of diyas (earthen lamps) being lit as Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Deepotsav celebrations on Sunday, the eve of festival of lights Diwali.
Over 15 lakh diyas lit up the banks of Saryu river as Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the historic Deepotsav celebrations on Sunday.
The PM and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath showed off the Guinness Record certificate on the occasion.
On his first visit to Ayodhya after ‘bhoomi pujan’ for the construction of a Ram temple on August 5, 2020, Modi offered prayers at Ram Janmabhoomi on Sunday.
“I got the opportunity of Lord Ram’s darshan due to his blessings.. happy that people across the world are watching Deepotsav celebrations in Ayodhya,” Modi said.
He also performed ‘aarti’ on the banks of the Saryu, before launching the grand Deepotsav celebrations.
Modi and Yogi witnessed a grand firecracker show which lit up the Ayodhya evening sky.
