Bhubaneswar: In order to equip youth of Odisha with industry ready skills using artificial intelligence (AI) and other technology driven solutions, the World Skill Centre in Bhubaneswar has signed an MoU with ITE Education Services (ITEES), Singapore to set up a Spatial Artificial Intelligence (SAI) Centre.
The Spatial Artificial Intelligence (SAI) Centre, which will made operational by 2025, aims at transforming the quality of skill training and education by adoption of AI into different advanced skill training courses offered at WSC.
“Remote learning for us will be a big plus. The learners will have an exposure to equip themselves as per industry standards with AI,” said Alka Misra, Chairperson, OSDA and CEO of WSC.
The WSC SAI initiative highlights the commitment to equip students with the skills needed for the evolving demands of the future workforce under the ‘Skilled In Odisha’ vision of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
As part of the MoU, ITEES will support in setting up the SAI Centre and training faculty members as SAI professionals for smooth operation of the same. The implementation is being done through EON Reality, a leading AI solutions provider in the domain of education and skill development.
The MoU was signed by Bruce Poh, CEO, ITEES and Pinaki Patnaik, Additional Secretary, SDTE Department and COO of WSC.
Principal Secretary, SDTE Department, Usha Padhee, CEO of OSDA Reghu G, Principal of WSC Sangaran Gopal and Deputy Principal Dr Subhanga K Das were present on the occasion.
The World Skill Centre, which operates in a hub and spoke model encompassing the government ITIs and polytechnics across Odisha, presently offers 7 advance courses under its School of Engineering and School of Services.
