New Delhi: Xiaomi on Wednesday launched the Mi Stick, a media streaming device to counter Amazon’s Fire TV stick. It is priced at ₹2,799, undercutting Amazon by ₹1,200.
The Mi Stick, unlike its higher-priced Mi Box, supports only FHD (full high definition) resolution and not 4K (4 times HD). It will be available from August 7 on mi.com, Flipkart, and Mi Home stores.
The Mi Stick looks similar to the Amazon Fire Stick and gets dedicated keys for Netflix and Amazon’s Prime Video on the remote. There’s also a Google Assistant button.
It runs on Android and has Chromecast, Google data saver option, access to Google Play Store, Dolby and DTS sound support.
The processor is a quad-core cone and it is supported by 1 GB RAM with 8 GB storage space.
